Is 11API actually free?

Yes. 11API itself does not charge for the tool. You bring your own ElevenLabs or Gemini API key, and provider usage is subject to that provider's pricing and limits.

Do I need an account?

No. 11API is browser-based and does not require an 11API account. Your provider keys are stored in your browser's local storage.

Does my video get uploaded?

No. Video editing and playback happen in your browser. Your video file is not uploaded to an 11API server.

Can I use both ElevenLabs and Gemini?

Yes. Choose the provider in Voice engine settings and keep separate keys for each provider.

Can I generate voice without a video?

Yes. Use Text to Speech from the home screen or drawer to create standalone voice lines without uploading a video.

How does the timeline work?

Upload a video, add voiceover lines at the playhead, then drag clips or their edges to position and trim them. The timeline also includes playback, scrubbing, zoom, and fit controls.

Is 11API actually free?

Yes. 11API itself doesn't charge anything and has no account or subscription. You bring your own ElevenLabs or Gemini API key, and you only pay whatever that provider charges for the characters or tokens you generate — usually covered by their free tier for light use.

Do I need to sign up or create an account?

No. There's no sign-in anywhere in 11API. You paste your ElevenLabs or Gemini API key into Voice engine settings, and it's saved only in your browser's local storage — never sent anywhere except directly to that provider's API.

Is my video or audio uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs client-side in your browser. Your video file never leaves your device, and generated voice lines are streamed straight from ElevenLabs or Gemini's API to your browser — 11API has no backend of its own.

What's the difference between ElevenLabs and Gemini for voiceovers?

ElevenLabs generally sounds more natural for narration and offers a large voice library plus voice cloning, while Gemini's text-to-speech is a solid free-tier option with a fixed set of prebuilt voices. 11API lets you switch between the two anytime and keep separate saved API keys for each.

Can I generate voice lines without uploading a video?

Yes — switch to the "Voiceover only" tab. It lets you write and generate any number of standalone voice lines and download them as audio files, with no video timeline involved.

How do I line voice lines up with my video?

Switch to "Video + Voiceover," drop in your video, then play to the moment you want narration and tap "Voiceover at current time." Drag the range's edges on the timeline to adjust exactly when each line starts and ends, then generate and download the audio once you're happy with the timing.
